“Hippie” (2019)

My new album “Hippie” (July 20 2019), TIBProd. Italy (Digital / CD)

1. Alleygates of Sin (6:33)
This track was written in Górczyn, Poznań, Poland, in the summer of 2002, after my return from my first trip to Berlin, where I bought lots of Hawkwind, Amon Duul II, and Miles Davis CDs. I was listening to this music, and playing with my friend, Mati, and writing first rock songs. This particular song was inspired by “Lost Johnny” and “Archie the Robot”.
2. Hippie (2:30)
This track was written in Grunwald, Poznań, Poland, in the summer of 2000, before I visited Berlin. It was probably swimming in the essence of Nirvana and Butthole Surfers LPs. A re-imagined version with lyrics by Tim Williams and me appears on the KakofoNIKT CD (2018), and the video can be viewed here. As you can see, this band version is very different, loses the punkfunky essence in favor of noise, poetic lyrics, and quoting “Atrocity Exhibition” and Visage. The video is funny though.
3. Spaceless (4:45)
This track features Roman Bromboszcz (on synthesizer) and Max Al (on prepared drums) – it could last forever, as it’s an update on Neu!.
4. Brain Devastator (3:16)
Another track written in Górczyn, Poznań, Poland, it’s about a chick I was dating back then. She was a brain devastator, believe me. I also remember blasting “Doremi Fasol Latido” from the original vinyl all summer long…
5. 1 City 2 City 1 (7:01)
This track originated at the Poznań/Tokyo FRIV festival during my performance with Afasia Yuri and Kazehito Seki. However, the track was only an improvisation then. This is the “studio” version featuring atmospherics and electronics by Ingrid Soares.
6. Behind the Veil of Isis (7:48)
This track was written in December 2006, in Grunwald, Poznań, Poland. It was inspired by T.Rex, and the book “Veil of Isis: Mysteries of the Druids”. It appears on the KakofoNIKT CD (2018) in a radical reworking that loses most of the lyrics, the structure, riffs, krautrock vibe, and chorus in favor of endless banging primal/savage rock’n’roll.
7. Premature Burial (3:36)
This track was written in Górczyn, Poznań, Poland, in 2003. It owes a lot to “Eye-Shaking King” and Edgar Allen Poe.
8. 1970 Avenue (2:17)
Another track from Górczyn, 2002. This is about a retrofuturist utopia. I was reading lots of sci-fi anthologies and books during my high school years. It shows.
9. Peace Child (3:25)
And ANOTHER track from Górczyn, 2002. It is about the Antichrist dressed up as Savior. Common in art and politics.
10. Sonnenengelküsse (5:59)
